Kenya’s Ivy Trizah Muhenje Akala has given the country another reason to celebrate after being named among Africa’s Top Six finalists in the Beauty with a Purpose challenge at Miss World 2026.
The achievement places Trizah among the Top 24 contestants globally in the challenge, which is one of the major parts of the Miss World competition.
For the Kenyan beauty queen, the recognition goes beyond the pageant stage.
Her Beauty with a Purpose project, Showing Love Behind Bars, focuses on mothers and children affected by incarceration at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
The initiative aims to offer support, care and hope to mothers serving time and their children, who can face difficult emotional and social circumstances as a result of imprisonment.
A strong showing for Kenya
Trizah's latest achievement adds to an already impressive run at this year's Miss World competition.
She has also made progress in the Top Model fast-track challenge, advancing as part of Team Africa and giving her another opportunity to showcase her modelling and presentation skills.
The other African contestants who made the Top Six in the Beauty with a Purpose category are Rumzia Sule of Ghana, Ireen Navicha of Malawi, Mariyam Konneh of Sierra Leone, Trivia Elle Muhoza of Uganda and Brunette Makanaka Makanyiso of Zimbabwe.

From Miss World Kenya to the global stage
Trizah was crowned Miss World Kenya 2026 in Nairobi in December 2025. At the time, she spoke about the importance of using the crown for more than fashion and appearances, highlighting the role of purpose and community impact.
Her journey at Miss World has now given that message a much larger platform.
The Beauty with a Purpose challenge is particularly important because it allows contestants to put attention on social causes they care about rather than competing purely on appearance.
For Trizah, that cause is closely connected to families affected by incarceration.
Kenya has another reason to watch
The latest recognition puts Trizah in a strong position as the Miss World competition continues.
She is no longer simply representing Kenya on the international stage. Her project has now been recognised among the leading initiatives from across Africa and has reached the global Top 24.
With the main competition still ahead, Kenyan fans have plenty of reason to keep following her journey.
Trizah arrived at Miss World carrying Kenya's crown.
She is now carrying something bigger — a message about showing compassion to mothers and children whose lives have been affected by incarceration.
And that message has taken her one step closer to the biggest stage in the competition.
